Actress Nithya Menen has said that she does involve herself in discussing the story/screenplay of her films and even goes to the extent of arguing with directors in getting the script/dialogues changed. “I don’t think there is anything wrong in it,” says the actress, who has put on oodles of flesh around her waist in recent times.
Known for her performance-oriented roles in films, Nithya had essayed a lesbian’s character in the recently-released hit Telugu film Awe which also had Kajal Aggarwal and Regina Cassandra as other heroines. During a recent chat, the Tamil-Telugu-Malayalam-Kannada actress was responding to complaints that she was interfering with the dialogues and scripts of her films.
“It is indeed true that I discuss the story, screenplay and dialogues with my directors and ask them to make necessary corrections. I’m very choosy about the scripts in which I get myself involved and opt only for different-natured scripts as I don’t feel satisfied in repeating the same stories in my films. I do interfere and get things changed without fighting with my film-makers.
“I don’t think there is anything wrong about it,” she says and concedes that she might take up direction in future. “Producing films is not my cup of tea as I’m very bad in (maintaining) accounts,” she said. On another note, she said that she had no regrets at all about having played a lesbian’s character in Awe.
That’s Nithya for you!
