Film-maker Shakthi Chidambaram is busy with his sequel Charlie Chaplin 2, which is the ‘second part’ of his 2002 film Charlie Chaplin which had Prabhu Deva and Prabhu romancing Gayathri Raghuraman (debut film as heroine) and Abhirami respectively.
16 years after the comic venture, satire specialist Chidambaram has taken up the task of making the sequel, repeating only Prabhu Deva and Prabhu from the original cast, long after Prabhu had stopped essaying lead roles in films. Curvaceous Nikki Galrani and pretty Adaah Sharma (remember her in an ‘item number’ in Simbu’s Idhu Namma Aalu?) play the heroines.
Ravimariah, Senthil, Akash, Vivek Prasanna, Sams, Santha, Kavya, Dev Gill, Sameer, Komal Sharma and Amit play prominent roles in the film. Speaking about the sequel, Chidambaram said that he planned to make it a laugh-riot for the audiences. The final schedule of the film’ shoot has commenced in right earnest, he added.
Stunt sequences featuring Prabhu Deva, Dev Gill and Sameer were filmed recently in Kodaikkanal, he informs. Amresh scores the music of the film while Soundararajan is the film’s cinematographer. The highlight of the film, obviously, is the screenplay and dialogues penned by ‘Crazy’ Mohan.
